Hiking tour in Aulanko nature reserve area, Hämeenlinna.

Aulanko Nature Reserve is one of the most popular outdoor areas in Southern Finland – and just one hour from Helsinki!
Aulanko is famous from it´s beautiful forests and lakes, fairytalelike sights, not to forget the cultural history of the area, and of course Jean Sibelius (1865-1957), our famous composer who was born in Hämeenlinna and who spent lot of time also in Aulanko.

During this guided tour we hike in mesmerizing old forests, taste berries, have light picnic by the swan lake and enjoy fresh air and relaxing moments in the nature. We also visit other attractions, like the Aulanko observation tower where it´s said Sibelius got his inspiration for the Finlandia Hymn.

The hiking tour includes:

  • hiking in nature reserve with experienced local guide
  • varied terrain with some uphills and downhills which makes this tour “moderate”
  • lots of fresh air – one of the purest in the world
  • intriquing history and sigths to visit, e.g Aulanko lookout tower
  • light picnic in the nature
  • drinking water
  • liability insurance

What´s not included:

  • transportation to the area (Ask for a price for bus transportation.)
  • personal accident insurances

What to take with you:

  • good shoes for walking in the forest (hiking shoes or sneakers)
  • clothing adjusted to the weather

Possiblity to rent walking poles for 5 eur / pair.
Also possibility to add traditional sauna experiences and swimming for extra cost.

The tour is available from April to September.
Notice, berries we can find usually only between July – August and lookout tower might not be open early spring or late autumn. In that case we still have access to the viewpoint over the lake by the tower.
